SPECIAL ORDER OF BUISNESS 7 <br /> 8 <br />A. Resolution 6760, A Resolution of Appreciation for Stephen A. Suave for 20 years 9 <br />of dedicated service with the SBM Fire Department. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Marty presented a framed copy of Resolution 6760 to Mr. Suave. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Mr. Suave thanked his family for putting up with his work with the Fire Department for 20 years, 14 <br />as it is a huge time commitment and it affects one’s private life. He also introduced his family to 15 <br />the City and Council. 16 <br /> 17 <br />MOTION/SECOND: THOMAS/GUNN. To approve Resolution 6760 A Resolution of 18 <br />Appreciation for Stephen A. Suave for 20 years of dedicated service with the SBM Fire 19 <br />Department. 20 <br /> 21 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 22 <br /> 23 <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 24 <br /> 25 <br />A. Resolution 6759 Accepting Proposals/Quotations for Technology and 26 <br />Electronics Package for the SBM Fire Station #3. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Fire Chief Zikmund explained construction of the SBM Fire Station #3 at 11920 Ulysses Street is 29 <br />underway and has an estimated completion date of July 31, 2006. He reviewed the progress on 30 <br />the building. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Fire Chief Zikmund commented that proposals/quotations for technology and electronics were 33 <br />requested/sought by the Fire Department Staff. He explained that the Technology and 34 <br />Electronics package focuses on those items that have, as a component of their use, some 35 <br />installation that is best built in at the time of construction. He noted these include the phone and 36 <br />data cabling, security system, TV/Audio Visual/Electronics, and phone system. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Fire Chief Zikmund reviewed the components of each item. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Fire Chief Zikmund stated that the low bid for TV/Audio Visual/Electronics was received by 41 <br />Tierny Brothers, Incorporated in the amount of $126,622.08, the low bid for phone and data 42 <br />cabling was received by General Telecommunications Corporation in the amount of $16,151.50, 43 <br />and the low bid for the security system was received by Honeywell Security Monitoring in the 44 <br />amount of $16,330.00. 45
