Mounds View City Council March 13, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting Page 21 <br /> <br />Councilmember Stigney asked about the units used at the golf course. Supervisor of Parks 1 <br />Department Dazenski stated the largest unit the golf course had was a 10 foot mower, and that 2 <br />was kept as a backup mower in case of a growth spurt or breakdown of the main mower. He 3 <br />noted that two mowers from the golf course were auctioned off. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mayor Marty stated he likes the features on the new mower. 6 <br /> 7 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 8 <br /> 9 <br />K. Resolution 6772 Accepting Ramsey County Excess Right-of-Way. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Director Ericson explained Staff facilitated a discussion with Ramsey County regarding remnant 12 <br />Long Lake Road right-of-way that bisects the SYSCO area. He stated the right-of-way is not in 13 <br />use for its intended purpose and Ramsey County has no plans for the right-of-way. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Director Ericson stated that the City gave SYSCO direction to work with Ramsey County to 16 <br />determine if the excess right-of-way could be vacated. He indicated that Ramsey County adopted 17 <br />a Resolution which released the excess right-of-way to the City of Mounds View. He stated the 18 <br />City should adopt a Resolution accepting this so it may in turn vacate same to SYSCO, as the 19 <br />City has no plans for the right-of-way. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Director Ericson explained an ordinance must also be passed in order to vacate any interest in 22 <br />land. He explained SYSCO is aware of Ramsey County’s plans. He explained 16,000 square feet 23 <br />of land would be brought back on to the tax rolls. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Director Ericson explained there are utilities present in the right of way that would remain 26 <br />protected by an easement dedicated as part of the SYSCO Minnesota Second Addition Plat that 27 <br />would need to come back to the City Council for final plat approval. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Director Ericson offered to answer questions. 30 <br /> 31 <br />MOTION/SECOND: THOMAS/STIGNEY. To waive the reading and adopt Resolution 6772 32 <br />Accepting Ramsey County Excess Right-of-Way. 33 <br /> 34 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 35 <br /> 36 <br />L. First Reading and Introduction of Ordinance 770, an Ordinance Vacating 37 <br />Excess and Unused Former Ramsey County Right-of-Way to SYSCO 38 <br />Minnesota. 39 <br /> 40 <br />MOTION/SECOND: STIGNEY/FLAHERTY. To approve the First Reading and Introduction 41 <br />of Ordinance 770, an Ordinance Vacating Excess and Unused Former Ramsey County Right-of-42 <br />Way to SYSCO Minnesota. 43 <br /> 44 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 45
