<br />Ordinance 769 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br /> f. Maximum Sign Height: The maximum allowable height of billboards shall be thirty <br />forty-five feet (35 45'). The height shall be measured from the grade at the base of <br />the sign or from the surface of the roadway whichever is higher. (Ord. 644, 12-13-99; <br />Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br /> g. Obstruction: No billboard may be located in such a manner as to obscure or <br />otherwise interfere with the effectiveness of an official traffic sign, signal, or device, or <br />obstruct or interfere with a driver's view of approaching, merging, or intersecting traffic. <br /> (Ord. 644, 12-13-99; Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br /> h. Existing Billboards: Any billboard legally existing as of December 13, 1999, may <br />continue to be maintained in its present form and size but shall not be expanded. <br />This does not preclude the periodic changing of the message or advertisement <br />presented on the billboard. (Ord. 644, 12-13-99; Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br /> i. Destruction: Any billboard destroyed by an act of nature shall be allowed to be <br />rebuilt provided said billboard complies with or is capable of complying with all <br />requirements of this subdivision. Nonconforming billboards shall not be allowed to be <br />rebuilt. (Ord. 644, 12-13-99; Ord. 679, 5-29-01) <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 11. Section 1008.11, Subd 3 of the Mounds View Municipal Code pertaining to <br />Garage Sale Signs is hereby amended with the proposed additions underlined and deletions <br />struck out: <br /> <br />Subd. 3. RESERVED. Garage Sale, Estate Sale and Open House Signs: Garage sale, <br />estate sale and open house signs and similar signs may be allowed to be located <br />within a public right of way provided: <br /> <br />a. The duration of the display of such sign shall not exceed three (3) days. <br /> <br />b. No part of such sign shall extend within five feet (5') of a traveled roadway. <br /> <br />c. Such sign shall relate to or direct people to a residential property within the City. <br /> <br />d. Such sign shall not exceed four (4) square feet in area and shall not obscure <br />pedestrian or vehicle visibility or any traffic control sign or violate any other provision <br />of this Code, specifically subdivision 2 hereof. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 12. Section 1008.12, Subd 4 of the Mounds View Municipal Code pertaining to <br />“Prohibited Signs” is hereby amended with the proposed additions underlined and deletions <br />struck out: <br /> <br />Subd. 4. Temporary or permanent advertising signs posted within public right-of-ways, <br />excluding directional signs and signs expressly allowed herein and by other <br />governmental agencies.
