J r <br /> (PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY - CONTINUED) <br /> Final purchase and distribution of arts and crafts supplies and other <br /> materials for summer playgrounds was completed. Summer playground <br /> leaders will be preparing the park buildings for action, to begin Monday <br /> morning, June 22, 1992. <br /> Staff has been continuing to work on budget information. <br /> Staff continues to work on after-school programs as requested by the <br /> school district, for middle school activities in 1992-93. <br /> MVCT ticket sales have begun, and already three group sales have been <br /> recorded. <br /> The City of Mounds View hosted the RSCC meeting on Wednesday, <br /> June 16, 1992. The Task Force continues to discuss the governing <br /> issue which is a very important and controversial aspect of the RSCC. <br /> The Parks and Recreation Commission packet was prepared and sent to <br /> the Commissioners. Their next regular meeting is Thursday, June 25, <br /> 1992. <br /> The June/July edition of "A View from the Mound" Cable TV program has <br /> begun production, to be completed next week. <br /> A RESIDENT'S COMMENT: <br /> In a conversation-with-Don-Hodges-the-other day, he-mentioned tome <br /> how amazed he was to-see-how-the_parks_are being used, "bustling with _ - - <br /> activity" was his comment. The Mounds View Lioness's had a potluck at <br /> Silver View Park picnic shelter which he attended. Don was amazed at <br /> the number of people using the many facilities at the park. The <br /> basketball court was being used as well as the volleyball court, softball <br /> games were in progress and a local soccer team was practicing. <br /> Families with young_children were playing on theplayground equipment <br /> and couples were walking the pathways. The parking lot was loaded. <br /> Don was reminiscing about the time 11-12 years ago when the City was <br /> working out the purchasing arrangements of the land where Silver View <br />
