Granted permission, Acting <br /> Mayor Blanchard then called on Bob Wharton of the Lion's <br /> Club to explain the request for approval. <br /> Mr. Wharton supplied the Councilmembers with a list <br /> of donations made by the Lion's club to the City, <br /> youth groups and schools . The total amount of these donations <br /> was $167,351. <br /> Acting Mayor Blanchard commented that it is always <br /> amazing the amount of money the Lion's put back into the <br /> community. Blanchard further stated that the majority of the money <br /> stays in the community. <br /> Mr. Wharton stated that donations also are spent on leader dogs <br /> for the blind, hearing dogs, and the Lions Club International <br /> Foundation. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Wuori/Rickaby to approve Charitable Gambling <br /> License and Locations for Mounds View Lion's Club <br /> 4 ayes 1 abstention 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 3 . Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, reviewed Resolution No. <br /> 4139 which calls for the repeal of the presidential primary. Orduno <br /> stated this will be the first presidential primary ever and the cost <br /> is to be borne completely by the cities . Senator Marty of Roseville <br /> is on the Elections Committee and is asking that cities support <br /> the repeal of this primary in order that full funding may be approved <br /> at the state level, eliminating the need for any local government <br /> casts for cond-u-ct-i-ng—t ' . <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Blanchard/Wuori to adopt Resolution No. 4136 <br /> Calling for the Repeal of the Presidential Primary <br /> 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 4. Mary Saarion, Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director, reviewed this <br /> item regarding the: appropriation of $792 for Senior Citizen <br /> Community Center Su"i'Vey. The Senior Community Center Task Force <br /> ldb- Moo-ked into the feasibility of contracting survey services with <br /> Decision Resources . The total cost would be $5,500 for a 500 person <br /> survey. This would be a telephone survey, 100 persons from each <br /> city and then 100 questions specifically to senior citizens of the <br /> • <br /> quad city population. The percentage of funding for the City <br /> of Mounds View's share would be $792 . 00 . <br />
