(This item <br /> had been removed from the Consent Agenda previously. ) <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Wuori/Blanchard to adopt this item as a <br /> just and correct claim against city funds . <br /> 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> REPORT OF COUNCILMEMBERS: <br /> Councilmember Wuori: No report. <br /> Councilmember Quick: No report. <br /> Councilmember Blanchard: No report. <br /> Councilmember Rickaby: No report. <br /> REPORT OF MAYOR: <br /> • Reminder to the residents of the Household Hazardous Waste <br /> Meeting on September 26, 1991 at 7 :00 p.m. at Mounds View <br /> City Hall. Members of City Staff, representatives from Dynex <br /> and representatives from Ramsey County will be a part of this <br /> informational meeting. The meeting will be run on cable for residents <br /> unable to attend. <br /> 2 . October 3rd is "Turn Off The Violence Day" . All persons are <br /> asked to participate by not watching violent TV shows, renting <br /> violent video tapes, not to go to violent movies and not to <br /> listen to violent music on October 3rd. <br /> 3 . Mayor—Like—noted that he-lad—re le Lter from a "Concerned <br /> Resident" regarding the speed limit on County Road I. The <br /> resident further stated that he/she had written in the past and <br /> received no response from Mayor Linke. Mayor Linke stated that in the <br /> past he has made it a practice not to respond to unsigned letters; <br /> because there is no way to know to whom to respond. <br /> Mayor Linke sited an article from the St. Paul paper from last <br /> Tuesday, September 17, 1991, where a resident had complained about the <br /> speed limit of a specific street saying that 40 mph was too fast. A <br /> traffic study was done and the speed limit was raised to 55 . Speed <br /> limits are set based on traffic studies which may or may not concur <br /> with resident's concerns. This was discussed as a point of interest. <br /> • <br />
