JOB DESCRIPTION <br /> • <br /> ENGINEERING INTERN <br /> Department: Public Works <br /> Accountable To: City Engineer/Director of Public Works <br /> Educational Requirements: Current Student in Civil Engineering <br /> or Civil Technology program. Previous intern experience strongly <br /> preferred. <br /> Internship Timeline: Full Time position for 3 months. Position <br /> may continue on part-time basis through 1991. <br /> Salary Range: 7.50 - $8.50 per hour depending on qualifications. <br /> No fringe benefits other than Worker's Compensation and P.E.R.A. <br /> (if applicable) . <br /> TIMELINE <br /> Position Responsibilities: Completion Date <br /> To assist in the conversion of paper On-Going <br /> maps and tabular information into <br /> computer drawings and databases . To <br /> manage both the computer records and the <br /> original hard copy information so that <br /> it is accessible to all employees. <br /> To actively participate in obtaining September <br /> field information necessary for the <br /> city to manage its infrastructure. This <br /> includes traffic counts , survey data , <br /> and other field observed data. <br /> To assist in inspection of public works August <br /> ' ee • eliplPtPd , <br /> documenting conditions and procedures of <br /> work, and insuring compliance with plans <br /> and specifications. <br /> To meet with residents and assist them On-Going <br /> in relation to public works concerns <br /> and/or information necessary for their <br /> uses. <br /> To work with employees of various On-Going <br /> departments and assist them with map <br /> preparation, information presentation, <br /> and data collection. <br />
