Mounds View City Council Page Two <br /> Regular Meeting May 13, 1991 <br /> Mayor Linke applauded the fifth graders for their <br /> dedication to the DARE Program and congratulated <br /> them on their successes . <br /> RESIDENT REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR: <br /> Peggy Krig, 8160 Red Oak Court stated that a City snowplow damaged her yard <br /> and that her sodded yard. The City applied black dirt and <br /> seed to her property, but she felt that the seed would not fill in and <br /> match the sod. <br /> Mayor Linke stated that the City's policy is to apply black dirt and seed <br /> to areas damaged by City plows . He further commented that in fairness to <br /> all residents, the policy would remain. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS: Mayor Linke opened the public hearing for 3030 County <br /> Road J regarding a variance by Mr. John Engberg. <br /> Paul Harrington reviewed the variance request made by Mr. Engberg regarding <br /> the allowance of a 900 square foot garage where only an 864 square foot <br /> garage is allowed. <br /> City Attorney Karney stated that he had spoken to City staff and it appears <br /> Mr. Karney had not received updated portions of the code which referenced <br /> this subject and allowed Mr. Engberg to have up to a 1,000 square foot <br /> garage on his property. <br /> The public hearing was scheduled and published for a variance appeal. <br /> However, Mr. Engberg would need a conditional use permit.
