Mounds View City Council April 10, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting Page 22 <br /> <br />11. REPORTS 1 <br /> 2 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council 3 <br /> 4 <br />Councilmember Stigney commented that he received a telephone call from a resident who was 5 <br />unhappy that the Streets meeting was scheduled for April 13, 2006, because it is a holy day and 6 <br />many people will be at church and will not be able to attend. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Councilmember Stigney stated that the resident also wondered if the existing street surveys 9 <br />would be taken into consideration or if the study will be started from scratch. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Marty stated he received a question if a motorcycle club could be in the City’s Festival in 12 <br />the Park parade. Councilmember Gunn stated that would be fine and reminded the residents that 13 <br />the Festival in the Park is scheduled for August 20, 2006. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Mayor Marty added that the Festival in the Park is looking for volunteers, and anyone interested 16 <br />should call Councilmember Gunn. 17 <br /> 18 <br /> B. Reports of Staff 19 <br /> 20 <br />1. Assistant to the Administrator Crane 21 <br /> 22 <br />Assistant to the Administrator Crane announced the 2nd Annual Town Hall Meeting will be held 23 <br />at the Mounds View Community Center on 5394 Edgewood Drive on Saturday, April 29, 2006. 24 <br />She stated the event will start at 9:00 a.m. 25 <br /> 26 <br />2. City Administrator Ulrich 27 <br /> 28 <br />City Administrator Ulrich reported on the status of the supplemental appropriation before the 29 <br />Minnesota Legislature for the additional $400,000 in funding for the proposed noise wall 30 <br />extension on the south side of Trunk Highway 10. He explained that a hearing is tentatively 31 <br />scheduled for April 11, 2006, at 3:00 p.m., and there will be Staff present to represent the City. 32 <br />He invited the City Council to attend the hearing. 33 <br /> 34 <br />3. Community Development Director Ericson 35 <br /> 36 <br />Director Ericson noted there is a vacancy for a resident position on the Economic Development 37 <br />Commission, and that the vacancy will be posted to seek applicants. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Director Ericson explained that draft plans have been prepared for the Red Oak Estates #3 40 <br />townhome project. He stated that floor plans and front elevations for the proposed buildings 41 <br />have been submitted. He mentioned the appearance and characteristics of the design work could 42 <br />change as it goes through the bidding process. 43 <br /> 44
