The Police Chief met with the Police Civil Service Commission <br />concerning the procedures for filling the position. The Civil Service Commission has <br />certified the eligibility list for the position. In order of eligibility, the list is as follows: <br /> <br />1. Justin Solberg <br />2. Amber Peterson <br />3. John Kaczmarek <br /> <br />The top candidate on the current police civil service eligibility list for the position is Justin <br />Solberg. A background investigation was completed on Mr. Solberg which he passed. <br />Staff from the police department has met with Mr. Solberg and recommend he be hired to <br />the position. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff seeks council approval to proceed with appointing Justin Solberg to the part time <br />position of Public Service Officer at the step one rate of pay for the position as <br />stipulated in the AFSME contract covering this position effective June 13, 2006. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Mike Sommer, Chief of Police <br /> <br /> <br />
