Item No. 8E <br />Meeting Date: July 10, 2006 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Greg Lee, Director of Public Works <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6873 Awarding a Construction Contract <br />for the Silver Lake Road Sidewalk Improvement <br />Project <br /> <br />Background: <br />On March 22, 2004, the City Council authorized the preparation of a preliminary <br />feasibility report and consultant selection for the Silver Lake Road Sidewalk <br />Project. This project is to construct a 6 ½ foot wide concrete sidewalk along <br />Silver Lake Road, from County Road H to County Road I. The construction of this <br />sidewalk is consistent with the City’s Comprehensive Trail and Sidewalk Plan. <br /> <br />On February 27, 2006, the City Council approved Resolution 6756 approving the <br />feasibility report, holding the public improvement hearing, ordering the project, <br />authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications, and authorizing easement <br />preparation activities for the Silver Lake Road Sidewalk Project. <br /> <br />On March 27, 2006, the City Council approved amending Resolution 6756 to <br />authorize plans and specifications for a sidewalk on the east side of Silver Lake <br />Road between County Road H and County Road H2 and to create plans for the <br />sidewalk to be located along Silver Lake Road in the area of Silver View Park. <br /> <br />On April 24, 2006, the City Council approved Resolution 6799 authorizing the <br />advertisement for bids and setting a bid date for the Silver Lake Road Sidewalk <br />Improvement Project. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />Bids for the Silver Lake Road Sidewalk Improvement Project were received at <br />10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at City Hall. A list of the bids received and <br />bid tabulation will be available for City Council’s review at 12:00 p.m. Monday, <br />July 10, 2006. <br /> <br /> <br />
