Continued Public Hearing from June 12, 2006, to consider Resolution 6833 9 <br />an On Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewal for Robert’s Sports Bar and 10 <br />Entertainment located at 2400 County Road H2 11 <br /> 12 <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated this item was postponed from the June 12th meetings, when 13 <br />several residents voice specific complaints about the operation including noise and trash. He 14 <br />said they attached police reports to the Staff report. He stated the owner of Robert’s Sports Bar 15 <br />and Entertainment is here to address complaints. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Mayor Marty re-opened the public hearing at 9:04 p.m. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Mr. Hutchinson, the attorney for Mr. Waste, the owner of Robert’s, stated they reviewed the 20 <br />Police Department record, and in the last 18 months, there have been 7 noise complaints, 3 of 21 <br />which were anonymous. He said before the meeting last month, Mr. Waste was not aware of the 22 <br />noise complaints. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mr. Hutchinson stated it is the nature of the nightclub that there will be noise around the bar and 25 <br />in the street. He said Mr. Waste will do everything he can to treat his neighbors well. He said 26 <br />some of the complaints were that the doors were left open and Mr. Waste and the nightclub 27 <br />managers have addressed the issue. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Mr. Hutchinson added that the traffic noise could be coming from many different places, not 30 <br />necessarily Robert’s. He said that Robert’s does not condone the behavior, that the bar has a 31 <br />good relationship with the Police Department. He said he does not believe anyone has been 32 <br />tagged for excessive noise in or directly outside the lot. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mr. Hutchinson stated the nightclub has been there for 20-30 years, and to some extent, there will 35 <br />always be some noise associated. He said Mr. Waste will do his best to be courteous, and that 36 <br />there have not been an inordinate number of police calls. Mr. Hutchinson said it is not a “biker 37 <br />bar,” and that motorcyclists patronize several bars in the area. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Sarah Mears, 5292 Edgewood Drive, stated she does not care about the motorcycle noise. She 40 <br />said her concern is the music and that even with the doors in the bar closed and in their house 41 <br />shut, that they can hear the noise. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Ms. Mears also stated her concern that a man was drunk and crawling around in her front yard 44 <br />and asked why he was not refused alcohol at the bar before he got to that point.
