Mayor Marty suggested the presentation table 1 <br />be included in the City Hall rehabilitation project and not be removed from the resolution. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Councilmember Stigney asked about the podium that is included and that he would like a better 4 <br />description about where the podium is coming from and what it is. He suggested that City 5 <br />residents be allowed to bid for such items. He asked where the power will come from for the 6 <br />power outlet in the new podium. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Communications Coordinator Blackford replied a cord would be run to the existing outlet. He 9 <br />also mentioned that there is sales tax on labor included in the bid and he does not believe labor 10 <br />should be taxed. Finance Director Beer stated that some labor is taxed. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Councilmember Stigney asked Communications Coordinator Blackford to look into the item. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Councilmember Stigney also asked about the audio amplifier to drive two speakers. He 15 <br />questioned the need for a 100-watt amplifier. He also asked about $8,411 expense for 16 <br />installation. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Communications Coordinator Blackford stated that she originally requested two controllers so 19 <br />either person, at the presentation table or in the back, could have control over the video cameras. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Councilmember Thomas noted that there is still a quote in the proposal for the installation of the 22 <br />presentation table. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Councilmember Stigney stated there are several places where expenses could be cut and that he 25 <br />does not support the resolution. He also noted his support for Alpha Video, but added that the 26 <br />installation and labor is excessive. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Councilmember Stigney stated he thinks that all of the expenses should come out of the cable 29 <br />fund. He asked about the projection for future expenditures. Communications Coordinator 30 <br />Blackford replied that she had originally planned to request the non-linear editing system, but 31 <br />that request will not be made in 2007. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Councilmember Stigney stated he believes half of the expenses could be cut. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Councilmember Thomas stated that Alpha is the only place that can install everything the City 36 <br />needs at once.
