APPROVAL OF AGENDA 21 <br /> 22 <br /> A. Monday, August 28, 2006 City Council Agenda 23 <br /> 24 <br />MOTION/SECOND: GUNN/FLAHERTY. To Approve the Monday, August 28, 2006 agenda 25 <br />as presented. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 28 <br /> 29 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT 30 <br /> 31 <br />Tom Nelson, 8315 Red Oak Drive, stated he is concerned about traffic on his road. He 32 <br />mentioned there are many children on Red Oak Drive and there are lots of vehicles cutting 33 <br />through. He noted the speeds are very high and there are many more large trucks and buses. He 34 <br />stated if there is an accident on Highway 65 or on 35W, the traffic is even worse. He asked if 35 <br />there is anything the City can do to curb the cut through traffic. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Mr. Nelson noted that there was a study done 10 years ago and the Mayor at that time had said 38 <br />there was no problem. He stated that the traffic is horrendous and out of control. He asked the 39 <br />City to do something to slow traffic down and deter cut-through. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Marty stated he spoke with Public Works Director Lee and noted a traffic count was done 42 <br />several years ago and the City should have it in their records. He suggested Public Works 43 <br />compare the traffic counts from then and those that were done more recently. Director Lee stated 44 <br />Public Works is aware of the problems and there are traffic counts for every odd year back 45
