He also mentioned that there is a nice physical fitness 1 <br />center. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mayor Marty noted he spoke to Senator Betzel about the Route 860 bus line, and the Senator sent 4 <br />an e-mail to the Metropolitan Council regarding the bus line. He stated he has forwarded e-mails 5 <br />from several residents about the bus line. He stated he hopes the City can get Route 860 6 <br />reinstated. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Marty stated on Monday, October 2, the Council is having a meeting with Ramsey County 9 <br />Commissioners Bennett and Weesner-Parker, along with Ken Heider, Dan Solar, Director Lee, 10 <br />and the principal at Sunnyside School about a signalized intersection at County Road H and 11 <br />Silver Lake Road. He noted the meeting is open for public comment. He stated there has been 12 <br />some concern about the intersection and noted upcoming plans for the intersection and sidewalk. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Councilmember Flaherty commented that the trailway on Silver Lake Road is open and that it is 15 <br />already being used. He said there is still some landscaping to do, but it looks like it will be used 16 <br />a lot in the future. He said the front yards and front of the trailway look very nice. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Mayor Marty noted that the Random Park building would be opening in mid-November. 19 <br />Councilmember Gunn asked about the parking lot. Director Lee stated there have been some 20 <br />flaws, but they are working with the contractor for corrections. 21 <br /> 22 <br /> B. Reports of Staff 23 <br /> 24 <br />City Administrator Ulrich noted the City received 15 defibrillators. He said 11 of them are 25 <br />portable and will be in every squad car, as well as four in buildings such as City Hall and the 26 <br />Community Center. 27 <br /> 28 <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated police received a $25,000. grant from the Federal Dept of 29 <br />Justice and they are looking at portable video monitoring that could be used in multiple locations 30 <br />in areas that have crime problems. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Mayor Marty noted the defibrillators do not require a lot of training and can be used easily. 33 <br />Ulrich added that the Police Chief is looking to make the City a heart-healthy community and 34 <br />they are considering offering some CPR classes in the future. Mayor Marty stated the City was 35 <br />supposed to receive them this year, but Medtronic had to re-program the machines to be current 36 <br />with current requirements. 37 <br /> 38 <br />1. He stated that Mr. Hall’s application for a hotel on the property has 43 <br />been withdrawn, but he is still exploring a hotel or other development on the corner. He added 44
