At the last Council meeting, it was announced that <br /> staff would take this opportunity to conduct a service analysis on <br /> this position. The purpose of the analysis would be to examine the <br /> service, the extent to which it requires a full-time employee and <br /> explore alternative courses of action which may (or may not) <br /> involve a cost savings . <br /> After the Council meeting, the immediacy of filling this position <br /> was discussed briefly. As Jim's leaving does provide a "window of <br /> • opportunity" for us in terms of evaluating a significant personnel <br /> cost, it may also create a service gap. <br /> This item has been placed on the agenda for discussion so that a <br /> decision can be made which resolves both immediate and future <br /> personnel and cost concerns . <br /> • <br />
