4 <br /> \it-017 / 0 <br /> • MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br /> FROM: PLANNING TECHNICIAN HARRINGTON <br /> DATE: January 3, 1991 <br /> SUBJECT: VARIANCE APPEAL, 3030 COUNTY ROAD J <br /> JOHN ENGBERG, PLANNING CASE NO. 304-90 <br /> Mr. John Engberg has applied for a variance to allow a second <br /> accessory building with more square footage than is allowed by <br /> Code. The second accessory building is currently existing on the <br /> site and was constructed without a building permit. The subject <br /> property is located at 3030 County Road J and is zoned R-1, <br /> Single Family Residential. <br /> Currently, the property has a three car, 744 square foot garage <br /> attached to the house and a second accessory building in the rear <br /> • yard with 900 square feet for a total of 1,644 square feet. The <br /> Mounds View Municipal Code allows up to 1,264 square feet of <br /> accessory building area on a property with the acquisition of a <br /> Conditional Use Permit(CUP) . The accessory building, as it <br /> exists, meets all setback and height requirements as outlined in <br /> the Municipal Code. <br /> The Mounds View Planning Commission, at their regular meeting of <br /> January 2, 1991, denied the request. Attached is a copy of <br /> Planning Commission Resolution No. 304-91. <br /> The applicant wishes to appeal the Planning Commission's decision <br /> at this time.
