r
MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL 411'
FROM: MICHELE SEVERSON, ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY
DATE: NOVEMBER 29, 1990
SUBJECT: PETITIONS
After reviewing the attached petition, I wondered if staff
would consider a policy regarding the format for petitions
that the City receives . At the present time, the petitions we
have received have contained a written signature, address and
in some cases phone number. What I would consider regarding a
format would be to have the person print their name, sign
their name, include their address and phone number. The
reason I am suggesting they sign and print their name is that
it would be so much simpler for record keeping purposes and
verifications . Many times people's signatures are very
difficult to decifer.
If the Council desires, staff would develop a format for
petitions received by the City for Council review.
/mjs
111
