Consideration <br /> had been opened earlier in the day for the cold of Award for <br /> storage shed. One bid was rejected for non-compliance . Cold Storage <br /> Mr. Ulrich reported Staff recommends the award go to Bids <br /> the low bidder, Morton Buildings, Inc. <br /> He explained the total cost would be $74, 007 . Electrical <br /> service still needs to be added, of which they' re not <br /> certain yet of the cost . The building should be <br /> completed by January 31, 1991 . <br /> Motion/Second: Paone/Blanchard to approve the award <br /> to Morton Buildings, Inc . , for the sum of $60.947 for <br /> construction of the salt/cold storage building, to be <br /> charged to Shop Account 100-4260-705, with a transfer <br /> of that amount to be made from the Undesignated Fund <br /> •alance to account 100-4260-705. <br /> 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> Roger Stigney, 8400 Eastwood Road, stated he had 12. Residents <br /> appeared before the Council twice before, questioning Requests . and <br /> the starting salary of $55-65, 000 for the new clerk/ Comments from <br /> administrator, as he feels it is at least $10, 000 too the Floor <br /> high . He stated he had called the Attorney General ' s <br /> office concerning comparable worth, which he had been <br /> told at a previous Council meeting was a condition <br /> of the salary. He was told by the Attorney General ' s <br /> office that the City was only required to pay minimum <br /> wage . <br /> Mr . Stigney further reported he had checked with <br /> adjoining suburbs, and Spring Lake Park ' s salary for <br /> the individual who has been there since the ' 70s is <br /> $48, 585 and if they were to - hire someone new today, <br /> would place them at 75-80% of the current salary. New <br /> Brighton, with a considerably higher population, has <br /> a range of $47, 250 to $50, 560. Mounds View paid the <br /> past clerk/administrator $56, 000 after ten years of <br /> service, and at a 75-80% starting range should be <br /> Alk42, 000 to $44, 800. Mr. Stigney stated he feels the <br /> ity is offering at least $10, 000 to much, and he <br /> has spoken with many residents who agree with him. <br /> Mr. Stigney read a petition signed by those residents <br /> and presented it to the Council, and requested the <br /> Council make a motion or take some action on it . <br />
