Uteml 12—
MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
• FROM: ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY/DEP.:U 'Y RK
DATE: NOVEMBER 1, 1990
SUBJECT: CITY LOGO
Staff has been checking inventory on stationery, labels,
envelopes, etc. in preparation for ordering supplies for the
coming year. Many of these supplies will be depleted in the
near future. In having stationery, labels, etc. printed, the
cost is higher for the City of Mounds View because we use a
two color logo.
Staff questions if the Council is happy with the current logo
or would like to look at changing it. Staff took the liberty
to have an outside company, at no charge, draw up two logos
for your review and comment, if interested. The logos
attached could be printed in black which is a less costly than
the two color ink (sample attached) . With all the recycling
concerns, it seems only appropriate to have the option of
using a one color ink that could be used on recyclable paper
and be less costly to the City. The black and white
stationery could be used for large mailings and more informal
• correspondence while the City could still keep in stock for
more formal correspondence to agencies, etc. the two color
stationery.
Acting Clerk-Administrator Minetor will have samples of
recycled paper, a book with sample logos in it and the
originals of the drawings of the logo with him at the
November 5 agenda session.
Staff will await Council direction.
- -/mks _
•
