ra
•
kje.24/t, ;?
MEMORANDUM
Memo To :Mayor and Council Members
From :Ric Minetor, Acting Clerk-Administrator
Date :September 7 , 1990
Subject :Temporary Vending Permits
The attached letter from Kraus-Anderson Realty Co . requests
restrictions on the issuance of temporary vending permits. Our
code requires a permit from anyone involved in temporary vending
unless associated with a local business. The code requires the
permit to state the location where the sales will be conducted
unless the organization sponsoring the sales is a religious,
philanthropic, or similar organization.
The City Attorney will be providing a written opinion regarding
this issue. My concern is that we may get several additional
requests from other businesses requesting restrictions on these
types of permits. One example is the sweet corn stands that we
111 see through out the City. If we begin restricting street vendors
for flowers , will the grocery stores request the same of
vegetable stands.
Staff is requesting Council's direction in this matter.
