i=iUG ' 90 7 : 44 FROM ARCHITECTURAL LL I HNC PAi3E . OO?
•
Option C
Option C would propose relocating the Community Room from the basement to a vacated Water
Filtration wing of the building. The City has confirmed that this vacation is not only feasible, but
may be imminent. An addition to City Hall would extend from the west wall of the Count i
Chamber out in a northwesterly direction. This addition would include an Audio/Visual Control
Room for the Council Chamber,Staff Toilets, and the entire Police Department. Also,an
extension of the main Lobby is required to provide a larger vestibule and an adequate waiting
area. The Parks,Recreation, and I orest'y Department along with the Public Works Department
would be relocated in the area vacated by the Police Department The space vacated by the
Community Room in the batt would become a divisible meeting room for Police training
sessions, classes, etc Option C creates a new, larger above groom Community Room with its
own separate public entrance. This entrance prevents the distraction which exists now when the
public uses the main Entry/Lobby on evenings when council meetings are held. Entrance by staff
could be through the shared Conference Room in the Public Works/Parks Departments wing.
The new Meeting Room provided in the lower level could also be used for oven;-flow crowds for
the Council Chamber at those few times when this is necessary. The Meeting Room would need
to be equipped to provide audio/visual connection to Ow Council Chamber above. This Meeting
Room also provides space for Police training sessions.
Following is a tabulation of the related costs for Option C The gross square footage figures used
in determining costs are derived from the drawings of Option C included in this study. These
numbers do not exactly represent the numbers that are listed in the projected spice need
tabulations recorded in Section D which are net square footage&
•
•
•
•
E-4
