r.. <br /> Mounds View City Council May 29, 1990 <br /> Regular Meeting Page Six <br /> Mayor Hankner noted an upcoming meeting on June 15, <br /> from 8 AM to 2 PM, on the regional transit system. <br /> Councilmember Quick reported he had attended the <br /> Park and Rec Commission meeting last week, at which <br /> time they approved the draft report from the task <br /> force on Silver View Park. They added a concept <br /> plan on development of trails in the park. <br /> Mayor Hankner noted the dedication of the park <br /> shelter is scheduled for sometime toward the end <br /> of July. <br /> Clerk/Administrator Pauley updated the Council on 16. Report of <br /> the situation at Brooks Superette, with the Clerk/ <br /> possible gas leak. In investigating it appears that Administrator <br /> when Gateway Foods was in the process of buying the <br /> property, the tanks were tested and one of the tanks <br /> failed the test and was emptied. The PCA has <br /> advised the tanks are on their inventory, and he <br /> reviewed the procedure followed by the PCA. The <br /> tanks will be removed and repaired within the next <br /> few months. Clerk/Administrator Pauley will send <br /> a letter to the PCA, objecting to the fact the City <br /> was not notified of the failure of the tank tightness <br /> test. - • <br /> Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported the tentative <br /> opening date of the library is July 16, and they would <br /> like to plan the dedication for September, on the <br /> same day as the Festival in the Park. It was the <br /> consensus of the Council that that was agreeable. <br /> Notice of the opening date will be published, and a <br /> logo contest is open through May 31. A fun run/walk <br /> is also being considered for the same day as the <br /> dedication, which should be coordinated through Park <br /> and Rec Director Saarion. <br /> Mr. Mielke inquired of the status of the beaver at <br /> Silver View Park. <br /> Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported it has been <br /> reported to the DNR. <br /> Alice Frits, 8072 Long lake Road, asked if anything <br /> has been started yet on bicycle training and <br /> safety. <br /> Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated he would check <br /> with Police Chief Ramacher. He noted the Chief <br /> had been experiencing difficulty in scheduling <br /> something through the schools. He is looking at <br /> other options and will provide an update. <br />
