c, <br /> U/6 /4._ <br /> • MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNC4u <br /> Ni <br /> FROM: CLERK-ADMINISTRATO:Pf141i <br /> DATE: MAY 1, 1990 <br /> SUBJECT: MINNESOTA STATE PARK CENTENNIAL WAGON TRAIN <br /> The City was recently contacted by Ms. Delores Amborn <br /> regarding the Minnesota State Park Centennial Wagon Train that <br /> will be overnighting on Metropolitan Airport Commission <br /> property north of Mounds View between County Road J and <br /> Highway 610 on June 8, 1991. Prior to the wagon train <br /> receiving permission to overnight, the Commission has <br /> requested approvals from both the cities of Blaine and Mounds <br /> View. <br /> In a telephone conversation with Ms. Amborn, staff has been <br /> advised that the wagon train is intended as a publicity <br /> campaign to acknowledge the 100 year celebration of the state <br /> park system. The wagon train that will overnight near Mounds <br /> View and will be comprised of approximately 15 wagons and 100 <br /> horses with 200 riders. The group will be providing their own <br /> water and restroom facilities and approval has been provided <br /> • by the Minnesota Department of Transportation and Blaine <br /> Police. <br /> Ms . Amborn has requested that if the City has no objections to <br /> this proposal, that a letter be sent to Mr. Tim McNaughton at <br /> the Metropolitan Airports Commission indicating that fact so <br /> that the wagon train can receive its authorization.
