STO: MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL AND CLERK ADMINISTRATOR <br /> FROM: POLICE CHIEF <br /> DATE : MARCH 27, 1990 <br /> SUBJECT: TRAFFIC STUDY -- KNOLLW000 BETWEEN COUNTY ROAD H & WOODALE <br /> The City Council requested the Police Department to conduct <br /> a traffic study at the above location. As you know, the City <br /> received a petition from citizens in that area requesting a <br /> stop sign at Woodcrest Drive. The petition stated that between <br /> 3 :00 PM - 6:00 PM weekdays is when numerous speeding violations <br /> occur. <br /> The Police Department set up radar numerous times between <br /> March 9, 1990 and March 23, 1990. Both marked and unmarked squads <br /> were used. <br /> The following are observations/results of the survey: <br /> 1 . approximately 200 vehicles were monitored <br /> 2. two citations were issued; <br /> • one for 41 MPH in 30 MPH zone <br /> one for 47 MPH in 30 MPH zone <br /> 3. the majority of the vehicles traveled <br /> between 24 MPH - 32 MPH <br /> 4. between 3 :00PM - 6:00PM the average vehicle <br /> count was approximately 30 per hour. <br /> If you have any questions, please call me. <br /> • <br />
