Mounds View City CouncilAPPROVED June 25, 1990 <br /> Regular Meeting Page Eight <br /> Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported the budget will <br /> be short $6, 600 for funds for the recycling bins, <br /> and he has spoken with the Lions Club about possibly <br /> meeting that deficit. <br /> Mayor Hankner noted the residents are being taxed <br /> about $20 per year on their property tax statement <br /> for recycling, as well as through their regular <br /> refuse bill, and she expressed frustration with <br /> the workings of the county. <br /> Clerk/Administrator Pauley noted a portion of the <br /> money paid goes for recycling, and a portion is <br /> covering the cost of the Newport facility, with <br /> the county getting an administrative fee. <br /> Councilmember Blanchard had no report. 15. Report of <br /> Councilmembers : <br /> Councilmember <br /> Blanchard <br /> Councilmember Wuori had no report. Councilmember <br /> Wuori <br /> Councilmember Quick asked Staff to look into the Councilmeml <br /> status of the Amoco car wash on the east side of Quick <br /> town, to see if the canopy was attached. <br /> Mayor Hankner suggested the Council take a Mayor Hankner <br /> position on the Anoka County airport and make it <br /> clear the City does not favor upgrading of the <br /> airport. A letter should go to the Met Council, <br /> MAC, three legislative representatives, the cities <br /> of Blaine, Lexington and Circle Pines. <br /> Motion/Second: Hankner/Quick to send a letter, <br /> - ' •ne• •y e en ire ounci , stating t at the <br /> City is opposed to any expansion of the airport <br /> beyond minor status and beyond what was in the <br /> lawsuit settlement. <br /> 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> It was suggested a statement be added, scolding <br /> MAC abaout the lack of safety controls at the <br /> airport, but also making note of improvements <br /> since the runway was moved. <br /> Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated he would have <br /> a draft document ready for the Council at their <br /> next agenda session. 111 <br />
