PROCEEDINGS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> • CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> Regular Meeting <br /> March 5 , 1986 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> 2401 Hwy. 10, Mounds View, MN 55112 <br /> The Mounds View Planning Commission was called to order 1 . Call to <br /> by Chairman Mountin at 7: 35 PM on March 5, 1986 . Order <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Zollner, Anderson, 2. Roll Call <br /> Forslund and Chairman Mountin. <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Public Works/Community Development <br /> Director Thatcher. <br /> It was noted that Commissioner Miller had an excused <br /> absence. <br /> Motion/Second: Anderson/Forslund to approve the 3. Approval of <br /> February 5 , 1986 minutes as presented. Minutes: <br /> February 5 , 1986 <br /> 4111ayes 0 nays <br /> Motion Carried <br /> Director Thatcher explained that Ronald O 'Connell, 4. Residents <br /> 2296 Terrace Drive, would like to construct a bedroom Requests and <br /> addition to the back of his home. The existing Comments from <br /> structure is only 14 ' from the property line, with the the Floor <br /> present code requiring a 30 ' sideyard setback. He <br /> stated the hardship could be that the house pre-existed <br /> the present zoning code. <br /> Chairman Mountin noted this would continue a non- <br /> conforming condition and would not necessarily consti- <br /> tute a hardship. She stated that uniqueness must be <br /> established for this particular request. <br /> After discussion among the Commissioners , it was agreed <br /> that a hardship could be found in the uniqueness of how <br /> the neighborhood was constructed, with 14 ' setbacks. <br /> Motion/Second: Anderson/Zollner to adopt Resolution <br /> No. 158-85, granting a variance request to Ronald <br /> O'Connell at 2296 Terrace Drive. <br /> 0 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />
