Mounds View Planning Commission December 2 , 1987 <br /> Regular Meeting Page Two <br /> likouncilmember Wuori suggested considering requiring <br /> he garage apron to be taken out. <br /> Mr. Newton stated it would be very costly to take it <br /> out, and that without a driveway to it, it would be <br /> only a patio. <br /> Motion/Second: Saunders/Zollner to adopt Resolution <br /> No. 210-87 , recommending approval of a conditional use <br /> permit to construct an accessory building for Odas <br /> Newton, 8319 Groveland Road, Planning Case No. 229-87. <br /> 6 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> Planner Herman advised that the Council will set the <br /> public hearing at their December 14 meeting, to be <br /> held on December 28. <br /> Mr. Newton stated he was concerned with getting started <br /> on the foundation and cement work as soon as possible, <br /> before the bad weather sets in. <br /> Planner Herman advised that since the Code states there <br /> cannot be two garages on one lot, Mr. Newton should not <br /> start until after the public hearing and approval by <br /> the Council. She added that a building permit would <br /> �e required, and one could not be issued with the exist- <br /> ing garage there. <br /> Councilmember Wuori recommended that due to the time <br /> constraints , Mr. Newton could come to the December 7 <br /> agenda session and talk to the Council and get their <br /> feelings . <br /> Planner Herman reviewed the two proposals submitted 6. Consideration <br /> by Mr. Petron far the subdivision of his property, of Rslt. No. <br /> and she stated that while neither meets the code 208-87 , Minor <br /> requirements , Staff feels that Exhibit 1 presents a Subdivision <br /> better solution to the problem. Request of <br /> Alphonse Petron, <br /> Chairman Mountin stated she was concerned with granting 2909 Woodale <br /> a variance rather than requiring removal of the garage Drive, Planning <br /> to meet Code requirements, adding that the Planning Case No. 227-87 <br /> Commission cannot consider economic hardship in granting <br /> a variance. <br /> Bonnie Hagel, representing Mr. Petron, stated she felt the <br /> lots could meet the square footage requirements if the angle . <br /> of the lot is considered as is the case in cul-de-sac lots. <br /> hairman Mountin explained this lot could not be <br /> � <br /> measured in the same manner as a cul-de-sac lot for <br /> setback; as it is a straight, corner lot and as <br /> presented at this time, does not meet, the Code require- <br /> ments. <br />
