Call To Order <br /> called to order by Chair Mountin at 8:48 <br /> p.m. on June 16, 1993. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Nelson, 2 . Roll Call <br /> Peterson, Ruggles, Colleen, and Chair <br /> Mountin. Commissioners Stevenson and <br /> Miller had excused absences. <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Planner Harrington, <br /> Recording Secretary Asleson, and <br /> Councilmember Rickaby. <br /> Chair Mountin noted for the minutes that 3 . Consideration <br /> • this special meeting had been called to of Resolution <br /> order at the request of the applicant's No. 363-93 , <br /> representative, Tom Boulay of Husky, Regarding <br /> Inc. The applicant, Keith Carlson, was Variance and <br /> not present. Conditional Use <br /> Permit Request <br /> Planner Harrington stated the facts of of Gateway <br /> the case for the minutes. Gateway Foods Foods, 2390 <br /> is requesting a Conditional Use Permit Highway 10, <br /> to allow a car wash as an accessory use Planning Case <br /> at 2390 Highway 10. The applicant also No. 362-93 <br /> is requesting a variance to locate the <br /> • . <br /> residential area where a 40' setback is <br /> required by code. This case had been <br /> previously discussed by the Planning <br /> Commission at agenda sessions. <br /> Mr. Boulay explained that a car wash has <br /> become a basic function of a convenience <br /> store and that a store's competitive <br /> position is weakened without one. He <br /> explained that the only way that a 40' <br /> setback requirement could be met would <br /> be to move the car wash to the center of <br /> the lot - something that can't be done <br /> • because that is where underground gas <br />
