Approval of Minutes: April 15, 1998 <br /> Motion/Second: Brasaemle/Stevenson to approve the April 15, 1998 Planning Commission <br /> (Special) meeting minutes as amended. <br /> Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 <br /> The motion carried. <br /> 5. <br /> Planning Case No 524-98 <br /> 2824 Woodale Drive <br /> Applicant: Ron and Jan Overton <br /> Consideration of Resolution No. 547-98 Approving a Variance for a Reduced Front Yard <br /> Setback. <br /> The applicant, Jan Overton was present. <br /> • Associate Ericson gave his report as follows: <br /> The applicants were requesting a 16.6 foot variance to the 54 foot front yard setback that <br /> currently exist on their home located at 2824 Woodale Drive. The 54 foot setback was <br /> established by Section 1104.01, Subd. 3., "requires a 30 foot front yard setback. Where <br /> principle buildings in existence on one side of a block are set back more than 30 feet, the <br /> minimum setback shall be the minimum setback in existence for any one lot." <br /> The property is 126 feet wide and 290 feet deep and covers 0.84 acres. The footprint of <br /> .- - .' - ' . . . .. u. - III . - -- Th- •vertons are .lannin• on <br /> reconfiguring the home's existing floor plan, including moving the existing stairway <br /> leading to the basement. In order to do this, an entryway/foyer will need to be added to <br /> the front of the home, within which the access to the lower level would be relocated. <br /> Two letters had been received from the neighbors. One letter from David Rudnick in <br /> favor of the addition and the second letter from JoAnn Valley questioning the definition of <br /> a foyer. <br /> Staff is recommending approval of Planning Commission Resolution No. 547-98 <br /> approving a variance for Ron and Jan Overton at 2824 Woodale Drive to allow for a <br /> reduced front setback of 37.4 feet, subject to stipulations. <br />
