• MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> FROM: PAUL HARRINGTON, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR <br /> DATE: September 16, 1994 <br /> SUBJECT: VARIANCE, 2147 PINEWOOD DRIVE <br /> LARRY KLEMZ, PLANNING CASE NO. 396-94 <br /> Larry Klemz has made application for a variance to allow a second <br /> driveway access to his property at 2147 Pinewood Drive. The two <br /> driveways are currently both in place on the property. <br /> HISTORY <br /> When built, Mr. Klemz' home consisted of living area and a single <br /> stall garage with driveway oriented towards Pinewood Drive. In the <br /> 1960's, the single stall garage was converted into living area. <br /> The owner of the property at that time continued to use the <br /> • driveway as off-street parking area. <br /> In the late 1970's, a two-stall, detached garage was built in the <br /> rear yard of the property. At that time, access to the garage was <br /> only available on one side of the property. Subsequently, an <br /> improved surface was put in to provide a driving surface to the new <br /> garage. <br /> Staff has recently been made aware of this situation and informed <br /> Mr. Klemz that he would need the variance. <br /> The attached application goes into further detail as to the need <br /> - - . - --d -r-i-ance.
