c. Temporary signs. Temporary signs are permitted for churches, schools, and <br /> public facilities only and are subject to the regulations of Section 9-140. <br /> d. Electronic readerboard signs. . Electronic readerboard signs may be permitted <br /> for schools or public facilities only. One such sign per lot shall be permitted by 1110 <br /> special use permit and are subject to the requirements of institutional signs. <br /> SECTION 9-060. RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS, R-3A AND R 3B <br /> a. Institutional sign. One (1) sign and/or encased bulletin board is permitted for a <br /> church, public facility or school. <br /> 1. An institutional ground sign shall not exceed twenty (20) square feet in <br /> area, not exceed ten (10) feet in height and shall be placed not less than <br /> ten (10) feet from any street right-of-way. <br /> 2. An institutional wall sign shall not exceed twenty (20) percent of the <br /> designated signable area or two-hundred (200) square feet in area, <br /> whichever is less. <br /> b. Ground sign. No ground sign shall exceed.thirty-five (35) square feet in area, <br /> shall not exceed twelve (12) feet in height and shall be set back a minimum of <br /> ten (10) feet.from any street right-of-way line. Such sign shall state a name, <br /> address, and/pr phone number only. <br /> c. Wall sign. No wall sign shall exceed thirty (30) percent of the signable area or <br /> two hundred (200) square feet in area, whichever is less. Signable area is an <br /> area of a building free of windows or doors. The maximum size of the selected <br /> signable area is determined by calculating the number of square feet which are <br /> enclosed by an imaginary rectangle around this area. Such sign shall state a <br /> name, address, and/or phone number only. <br /> street side. Each street side of a building sh211 be considered separately for <br /> purposes of determining compliance with the provisions of this section. <br /> e. Residential development sign. One (1) unlighted sign may be displayed for a <br /> residential project which is the initial offering for sale or rent of ten (10) or <br /> more new dwelling units, vacant lots or combination thereof for a period not to <br /> exceed two (2) years. Such signs shall be no more than ten (10) feet in height <br /> and thirty-two (32) square feet in area, except that the area of the sign may be <br /> increased to sixty-four (64) square feet so long as it is situated no closer than <br /> one hundred fifty (150) feet from the property line of an occupied residence that <br /> is not a part of the development. <br /> 411, <br /> c:\WP511oRD\cx 1X <br /> Page 8 of 16 <br />
