Sign: A name, identification, description, display, illustration, <br /> structure, device which is affixed to, or painted, or represented directly or <br /> indirectly upon a building or other outdoor surface or a piece of land, and <br /> which directs attention to an object, product, place, activity, person, <br /> institution, organization or business. <br /> Story: That portion of a building included between the upper surface <br /> of any floor and the upper surface of the floor next above, except that the <br /> topmost story shall be that portion of a building included between the upper <br /> surface of the topmost floor and the ceiling or roof above. <br /> Temporary sign: Any sign which is erected for a limited time and/or <br /> special purpose. <br /> Traffic directional sign: A sign erected by a public agency for the <br /> purpose of guiding vehicular and pedestrian traffic in a safe and convenient <br /> manner and which bears no advertising information. <br /> Section 6-104. Signs Allowed Without A Permit. <br /> The following outdoor signs are permissible without a permit or payment <br /> of permit fees provided the standards and restrictions in this section are <br /> met: <br /> • (a) Development signs: <br /> (1) On-site residential: One (1) temporary on-site development <br /> sign shall be permitted for each subdivision in any <br /> residential zoning district (including multiple dwelling) <br /> under the following conditions: <br /> (i) Said sign shall only be permitted for a residential <br /> subdivision after a final plat has been filed. <br /> (ii) Said sign shall be located at least fifty (50) feet from <br /> any existing or to be occupied dwelling unit. <br /> (iii) Said sign shall be removed when the residential <br /> subdivision is ninety-five (95) percent sold out or the <br /> multiple dwelling project is seventy-five (75) percent <br /> sold or rented. <br /> (iv) Where more than one builder is involved in a residential <br /> subdivision, there still shall be only one (1) sign as <br /> described above, which may list the builders for the <br /> subdivision. <br /> 4111 <br /> 5 5-13-93 <br />
