(d) Real estate signs: <br /> • (1) One (1) temporary sign per street frontage advertising <br /> buildings for rent and for sale shall be permitted in the <br /> front yard or front side of such building. Said sign shall <br /> be removed within ten (10) days after the property is rented <br /> or the closing of the sale. <br /> (2) Open House signs: Open house signs, which state that a <br /> particular house will be open for inspection by the public for <br /> a limited number of hours on a specific day, may be placed in <br /> the city boulevard area only during the open house hours. <br /> Signs may be placed within a six (6) block radius of the open <br /> house except as noted in section 6-104(d) (3) . Signs must be <br /> set back a minimum of five (5) feet from the curb and may not <br /> be placed on any sidewalk. <br /> (3) Open house and for sale signs may not be placed on the <br /> • following described street rights-of-way, easements, roadway <br /> surface, sidewalks, medians and decorative surfaces and are <br /> hereby determined to be in violation of the sign regulations. <br /> Any sign so placed is a nuisance and traffic hazard: <br /> Cedar Avenue - from 147th Street West to 153rd Street West. <br /> Galaxie Avenue - from 147th Street West to 153rd Street West. <br /> Pennock Avenue - from 147th Street West to 153rd Street West. <br /> • County Road #42- from Galaxie Avenue to Pennock Avenue. <br /> 147th Street W. - from Galaxie Avenue to Pennock Avenue. <br /> 153rd Street W. - from Galaxie Avenue to Pennock Avenue. <br /> (e) Promotional sign: A maximum of two (2) temporary promotional signs <br /> not exceeding thirty-two (32) square feet in area for each sign, shall be <br /> permitted for special events limited to school events, city celebrations and <br /> Christmas tree sales. Sign shall be permitted only upon notification of the <br /> city, for a maximum of thirty (30) days before the event or sale and shall be <br /> removed thereafter. Sign may be located in any zoning district subject to <br /> permission of the property owner. <br /> (f) Banners, balloons and streamers: Except for grand openings and <br /> holidays, banners, streamers and balloon signs shall not be used. The use of <br /> banners and streamers is permitted only upon notification the city. Such use <br /> shall be discontinued within (15) days after the first day and shall be not <br /> used in any location again until thirty (30) days has lapsed between use. <br /> Such use shall not be at any location more than thirty (30) days per calendar <br /> year. <br /> (g) Menu boards: Menu boards shall be permitted under the following <br /> conditions: <br /> (1) maximum of one (1) menu board shall be permitted with a <br /> restaurant providing drive-up window service.• <br /> (2) The menu board shall be a maximum of thirty-two (32) square <br /> feet in area and may be in addition to any signs otherwise <br /> permitted by this ordinance. <br /> 7 5-13-93 <br />
