• Page 5 of 6 <br /> Staff Issues for Code Revision <br /> (Minnetonka's) Subdivision 8 (d): Banners not to exceed 30 square feet according to the <br /> following: <br /> a. Maximum 30 day display period to coincide with the grand opening of a business; <br /> b. A business may display a banner on two occasions per calendar year with a <br /> maximum 10 day display period for each occasion. <br /> (New Brighton's) 9-140 (d) businesses not located in multiple occupancy buildings which <br /> has an established readerboard signs shall not be permitted temporary signing. <br /> (Shoreview's) DO (6)(d)No temporary business signs shall be allowed for a business in a <br /> building located on property which has a readerboard sign, except for authorized <br /> temporary promotional sales. <br /> (Wayzata's) 801.27.05 (0): The use of temporary and portable signs shall be limited only <br /> to charitable, non-profit or civic organizations and shall require a temporary permit not to <br /> exceed a period of ten (10) days. This permit may be granted by the City Manager, or <br /> designee, no more than three (3) times during any twelve (12) month period per <br /> organization. Portable and temporary signs may not exceed thirty(32) square feet in area <br /> unless first approved by Council and shall not be illuminated with any flashing device. <br /> • • Change code to read "three permits per calendar year," rather than just three per <br /> year (requires less paperwork) <br /> (Blaine's) Temporary signage/Promotional Events. Permits are allowed for a period not <br /> to exceed fourteen(14) days. Four (4) permits may be issued per calendar year per <br /> complex. This includes all banners, sidewalk sales, tent sales, and portable signage that is <br /> displayed outside of the building. <br /> (Bloomington) (d)(3): Banners and stringers may be used for special occasions. There <br /> shall be no more than four such occasions per year, each occasion shall not exceed ten <br /> days. Community festivals or other similar events may be exempted from the provisions <br /> of this section with the approval of the City Council. <br /> (Coon Rapids) 11-2106 (5)(b): Permits for portable signs, banners streamers, spinners and <br /> other exterior temporary signs shall not be issued in conjunction with the same business <br /> activity for more than thirty (3) days in any calendar year. <br /> (New Brighton) 9-140 (b): Each business or lot may be issued two (2) temporary sign <br /> permits any calendar year.
