way. <br />(20) Exemption from minimum distance requirements. <br />Communication towers installed and operated for public <br />purposes by a federal, state, or local governmental <br />agency shall be excluded from calculation of minimum <br />distance requirements for communication towers operated <br />for private purposes. <br />(21) Certification recuired. All plans for construction of a <br />communication tower, including foundation plans, shall be <br />certified by an engineer licensed to practice in the <br />State of Florida. <br />(22) Hurricane evacuation routes.. Communication towers shall <br />not be constructed at a height and location that, in the <br />event of tower failure, the tower may totally or <br />partially block or impede any road or street designated <br />as a hurricane evacuation route. <br />(23) Replacement of nonconformina communication towers. Any <br />nonconforming communication tower, antenna or similar <br />transmitting and receiving device that becomes damaged <br />shall be repaired or replaced subject to Section 27, <br />Article XIII of this code. <br />SECTION 3. Division 21, entitled "UTILITY SERVICES, <br />TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION TOWERS," in Article X, Chapter 27, <br />Zoning, of the Town Code is hereby amended. <br />DIVISION 21. UTILITY SERVICES, FACILITIES <br />Sec. 27-1476. Intent. <br />The regulations and requirements of this division are intended <br />to provide for -the -appropriate loc-ation and Hevelopment of utility <br />service facilities to serve the residents and businesses of the <br />Town. <br />Sec. 27-1477. Where permitted. <br />Utility service facilities may be permitted in A-1, R-R, R-1, <br />R-2, R-3, C-1, C-2, C-3, I-1, I-2 and MC zoning districts as a <br />special exception, or in a Planned Unit Development as a special <br />exception. <br />Sec. 27-1478.
