Item No: 09D <br />Meeting Date: February 14, 2005 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator Review: _________ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Administrative Assistant <br />Item Title/Subject: Public Hearing for 7:20pm, to Consider Resolution 6440 <br />Approving an Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for Vino & <br />Stogies located at 2345 County Road H2 in Mounds View <br /> <br />Section 502.08 of the Mounds View City Code requires that a public hearing be held for <br />new and transfer liquor license applications after published notice in the official <br />newspaper at least 10 days in advance of the hearing. Robert H. Waste, Jr., is <br />intending to open a liquor store at 2345 County Road H2, and is intending to do <br />business as Vino & Stogies. <br /> <br />Vino & Stogies will be taking the place of Network Liquors on 10 located at the same <br />address. The public hearing notice for Vino & Stogies, was published in the January 26, <br />2005 issue of the Mounds View/New Brighton Bulletin. <br /> <br />The proper application materials, fee and proof of insurance have been submitted for <br />Vino & Stogies. <br /> <br />Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension <br />The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has issued a satisfactory report <br />Robert Waste, Jr. <br /> <br />Utility Billing (City of Mounds View) <br />The Finance Department states that there are no outstanding billing issues with 2345 <br />County Road H2. <br /> <br />Fire Inspection (City of Mounds View Fire Marshall) <br />The City’s Fire Marshall has issued a satisfactory report for 2345 County Road H2. <br />Minor violations have been noted to the owner. <br /> <br />Minnesota Department of Revenue Tax Clearance <br />I have submitted to the DOR tax clearance forms for Robert Waste, Jr. The <br />Department of Revenue has not indicated his status as of date. The Liquor License will <br />be pending the status of the Minnesota Department of revenue to ensure that Robert <br />Waste, Jr., does not have any outstanding taxes. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License <br />application for Robert Waste, Jr., pending a Tax Clearance from the Minnesota <br />Department of Revenue. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Desaree Crane <br /> <br />
