Mounds View City Council January 24, 2005
Regular Meeting Page 22

Finance Director Hanson stated that there had been a balance of a little more than $200,000 1
worth of special assessments that were outstanding from the H2 project, and when the H2 2
project was done, a resolution was passed which was called a Declaration of Intent, and so the 3
option of bonding for the H2 project was out there all along, but it wasn’t financially viable to do 4
a $200,000 bond. He stated they had waited until there was a larger project, and then wrapped 5
that in. 6
7
Mayor Marty noted that Finance Director Hanson had stated that the M.S.A. Fund had received 8
a $150,000 reimbursement from the State, and that more was expected. He asked if these were 9
funds they were entitled to in the past, and if it was just starting to come in. 10
11
Finance Director Hanson stated that there were two reimbursement req uests that went to the 12
State last fall, and one was for H2 and the other was for the summer street project. He stated 13
that a partial payment had come in for one, and they are expecting more money on that. He 14
stated that there was something the engineers apparently didn’t document, and the State had 15
kicked it out, so it’s just a matter of getting the right documentation to them. He stated that 16
when those two reimbursements come in, they would finally have gotten reimbursed for 17
everything that they’ ve spen t on H2. 18
19
Mayor Marty stated that a couple of years ago they had discovered that SEH hadn’t applied for 20
some M.S.A. funds that the City would have been entitled to, so they had asked them to reapply 21
for that. He asked whether those funds had ever received . 22
23
Finance Director Hanson stated that as far as he could tell, this is the missing money that they’ve 24
been talking about. 25
26
C. Reports of City Attorney 27
28
City Attorney Riggs stated that a list of the bigger items that they had worked on over the last 29
year had been put together in a list for the Council’s information, and if there were any questions, 30
to ask him or the City Administrator to explain it. 31
32
13. Next Council Work Session: Monday, February 7, 2005, 7pm 33
Next Council Meeting: (SPECIAL) Monday, February 7, 2005 at 7pm 34
(Canvass of Special Election and Oath of Office 35
for newly elected Councilmember)-This Special 36
City Council Mtg will be first followed by the 37
Work Session. 38
39
