Mounds View City Council February 14, 2005 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />C. Resolution 6452 Approving an Amendment to the Verizon Wireless Contract 2 <br />for Antennas on the Water Tower. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if there was room on their tower for other antennas for ATT, 5 <br />Sprint, or Nextell. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that there was. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Stigney asked how many antennas are there now and how many will be on there 10 <br />when they are done. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that there are currently 12, and there will be 15 total. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Council Member Stigney stated they are paying $14,062 per month now, and if a value is put on 15 <br />each one, how did that come out as far as what they were offering to pay. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that they are currently paying $14,500, and the amount could 18 <br />be adjusted proportionately based on the number of new antennas. He stated that was something 19 <br />they could negotiate with Verizon. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether this entered them into an ongoing contract for a specific 22 <br />time or if it was ongoing. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that it is annual, and it will be adjusted 4 percent annually and 25 <br />is ongoing. He stated it has no time limit. He stated that there is an escape clause for each party. 26 <br /> 27 <br />MOTION/SECOND. Stigney/Marty. That the Public Works Director determine the value of the 28 <br />three new antennas and place that amount into the contract. 29 <br /> 30 <br /> Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 31 <br /> 32 <br />MOTION/SECOND. Thomas/Stigney. To approve Resolution 6452 Approving an Amendment 33 <br />to the Verizon Wireless Contract for Antennas on the Water Tower, with the stipulation that staff 34 <br />will provide the Council with the numbers. 35 <br /> 36 <br /> Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 37 <br /> 38 <br />E. Resolution 6458 Approving the Purchase of Security Surveillance Cameras 39 <br />for the Mounds View Community Center. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether the system would handle the additional cameras or if 42 <br />this was money that would handle whatever upgrades are needed to handle the monitoring. 43 <br /> 44
