RESOLUTION NO. 6479 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE SELECTION OF A CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AND <br />ARCHITECTURAL FIRM ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW FIRE <br />STATION IN THE CITY OF BLAINE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Spring Lake Park, Blaine, and Mounds View have been served <br />by the Spring Lake Park Fire Department since 1944, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department and the Cities have been working together to develop a <br />Capital Improvement Plan, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a joint city council meeting held July 22, 2004 resulted in a consensus to <br />move the plan forward, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during the month of February all three cities held public hearings on <br />adoption of the plan and all three councils passed a resolution indicating funding for the plan was <br />to be in the form of Capital Improvement Bonds, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, state law requires a 30 day reverse referendum period which has now <br />expired with no citizens of any of the three cities filing a petition for referendum, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the next step in the project is to contract with an architectural firm and a <br />construction manager firm, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a selection committee comprised of staff members identified ten <br />architectural firms and fourteen construction manager firms, investigated all, and conducted final <br />interviews with four firms from each group, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the selection committee forwarded their recommendation to the Project <br />Management Team established by the three city councils and received a presentation by the <br />recommended construction manager and architect firms. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Mounds View supports the firm <br />of Bossardt Corporation for the purpose of providing construction manager services and the firm <br />of Tushie Montgomery for the purposes of providing architectural services for the construction of <br />the new SBM Fire Station to be located in the 117th and Ulysses area of the City of Blaine. <br /> <br />Adopted this 28th day of March, 2005. <br /> <br />_____________________________________ <br />Rob Marty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> ____________________________________ <br />Kurt Ulrich, City Clerk / Administrator <br /> <br /> (SEAL)
