Mounds View City Council February 7, 2005 <br />Special Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn stated that the YMCA is having a garage sale at the Community Center 1 <br />on February 19th, with the proceeds to go to the Y Partners Program, which helps youth within 2 <br />the community who cannot afford recreation programs. She stated if anyone has items to donate, 3 <br />they should bring them to the Community Center. She stated that it would be a bag sale, with 4 <br />each bag costing $3. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Mayor Marty stated that he would like Council Members, citizens, and staff to be recognized by 7 <br />the Chair before speaking so there aren’t open discussions popping up during the Council 8 <br />meetings. He stated he would like civility maintained while speaking to one another. He stated 9 <br />he would like people to feel they can come to City Hall and not be chewed out or belittled. 10 <br /> 11 <br /> B. Staff 12 <br /> 13 <br />City Clerk/Administrator Ulrich stated that the tax increment financing legislation had been 14 <br />introduced in both houses under the authorship of Senator Betzold and Representative Bernardy. 15 <br />He stated there is a hearing scheduled on February 9th at noon before the Environmental and 16 <br />Natural Resources Committee regarding the reverter clause language. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Director Ericson stated that the 7th Annual Home and Garden Show will be Saturday, March 5 19 <br />from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the National Sports Center in Blaine. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that there will be a neighborhood meeting regarding the 2005 22 <br />Street Improvement Project on Thursday, February 17th at 6:30 p.m. at the City Council 23 <br />Chambers. He stated the streets proposed for this project are the streets that lie south of County 24 <br />Road H2 and west of Silver Lake Road. He stated there would be a brief presentation to go over 25 <br />the project, and then there will be a question and answer session. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if that would be a cable broadcast. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that it would not, but they could check to see if the video 30 <br />people were available to tape it. 31 <br /> 32 <br /> C.
