The Mounds View Police Civil Service Commission has a current <br />eligibility list for this promotion. The following procedures were created and followed by <br />the Mounds View Police Civil Service Commission in creating the current Sergeant <br />eligibility list: <br /> <br />1. The position was posted for internal candidates with 5 years experience with the <br />Mounds View Police Department. Five internal candidates applied for the <br />position. <br /> <br />2. A review of the candidate’s resume and letter of interest. Conducted and scored <br />by the Deputy Chief and Chief of Police. <br /> <br />3. Promotability index. A score based on an index of: past performance, <br />commitment to departmental management philosophy, integrity, dedication and <br />conscientiousness, writing skills, concern for fellow employees, communication <br />skills, and effectiveness in dealing with the public. The Deputy Chief and Police <br />Chief also completed this section. <br /> <br />4. Oral Interview / written exam. Conducted by a panel of interviewers from outside <br />the department. The panel consisted of the Deputy Chief of Police from <br />Maplewood PD, the Deputy Chief of Police from Centennial Lakes PD and a <br />Captain from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. The panel members scored the <br />interview. <br /> <br />Based upon the scores of the applicants, the Mounds View Police Civil Service <br />Commission has certified the top three candidates for the current open Sergeant <br />position as follows: #1- Officer Bob Nelson (score 71.67) #2- Officer Darrell Meyer <br />(score- 68.5), #3- Officer Steve Geringer (score 63.75) <br />
