(LELS), Local 204 <br />(Police Officers) for 2004-2005 <br /> <br />In reviewing the final labor contract for the Police Officers, it was noted that the final version <br />approved by the Council on April 25th contained a section that was intended to be deleted. <br /> <br />The section to be deleted is 23.1 (Severance) that allows a cash option for retiring employees. <br />Language was also added under the new 22.2 in regard to clarify the employee’s responsibility <br />for naming a beneficiary and tax liabilities. <br /> <br />Employees will now be required to put severance into a Retirement Health Savings account as <br />defined under the contract. This section was also removed from the Sergeants contract and <br />the Police Officers contact is proposed to be consistent with that language. <br /> <br />The attached resolution authorizes amendments to the LELS labor agreement as outlined. <br />The contract period is from January 1, 2004 and expires on December 31, 2005. <br /> <br />The agreement specifies a wage increase, plus new employer insurance contributions, and <br />other amendments. <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached resolution. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
