Residential Dog Kennel CUP Report
April 6, 2005
Page 5
Recommendations:

After holding the public hearing and taking testimony from staff, the applicant and affected
neighbors, the Council can select one of the following actions related to the request:

1. Table the request until the City Attorney can provide information about the appropriate
action to take for a temporary approval. The City Attorney and Staff support this option.
If this option is selected, Staff will need to notify the applicant that the City will need an
additional 60-day review time. Staff would still process the request in a timely manner.

2. Approve the conditional use permit, without the three-month time frame. Resolution
6507, a resolution approving the conditional use permit, with conditions, is attached if the
Council selects this option.

3. Deny the conditional use permit. If the Council selects this option, Staff will return at the
following Council meeting on May 9, 2005 with a resolution of denial. If this option is
selected, Staff will need to notify the applicant that the City will need additional time
beyond the initial 60-day review time.

Respectfully submitted,

Kristin Prososki
Planning Associate

Attachments:
1.
