<br />RESOLUTION NO. 6542 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION AND RECOGNITION OF MOUNDS VIEW RESIDENTS <br />MARLENE KVITRUD, LAUREN OMAN AND SARAH PALZER, <br />MEMBERS OF GIRL SCOUT TROOP 530 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mounds View residents Marlene Kvitrud, Lauren Oman and Sarah Palzer are <br />members of Girl Scout Troop 530; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these three individuals, along with other members of Troop 530, helped to <br />enrich the lives of the residents of a shelter for battered women and their children by donating their <br />time and resources, assisted in making fleece blankets, hats, and scarves, and with monetary <br />donations, purchased clothing and other essential items for shelter residents; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in recognition of their work, these three community members have been named <br />recipients of the 2005 Girl Scout Gold Award by the Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting and to achieve <br />it, girls must complete extensive prerequisite activities in the areas of leadership, skill development, <br />and career exploration. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Mounds View on <br />behalf of all residents of Mounds View, expresses its appreciation to Marlene Kvitrud, Lauren Oman <br />and Sarah Palzer for their hard work, devotion and dedication of service. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View does hereby recognize these three individuals for their accomplishments which led to <br />their being awarded the 2005 Girl Scout Gold Award. <br /> <br />Adopted this 23rd day of May, 2005. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Rob Marty <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Thomas Councilmember Stigney <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Councilmember Gunn Councilmember Flaherty <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich <br /> <br />(SEAL)
