JVC BR-DV3000U DV Deck Quotes (Does not include Shipping or taxes)

Supplier Estimate
Samy’s $1,599.00
Alpha $1,560.00
B&H $1,459.95

B&H has the cheapest quote of $1,459.95. The price for two JVC decks from B&H
would be $3,149, including shipping and taxes. The purchase of two Leightronix
remote interfaces of $125 apiece would also be required.

4. Summary
The City requires a number of professional video playback decks to televise City
meetings and programs. Currently two S-VHS video decks are in a state of disrepair
and need to be replaced. The purchase of two inexpensive digital video decks will
update the playback system with better quality equipment that should serve the City’s
needs for at least the next five years.

Recommendation: Staff recommends the purchase of two JVC BR-DV3000U Digital
Video Decks from B&H for $3,149. The funds used to purchase this equipment will come
from the Capital Equipment fund (210 – 4350 – 7030).

Respectfully submitted,
Ken Gammell
