Item No:9G <br />Meeting Date: June 13, 2005 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />Administrator Review____ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Chief of Police, Mike Sommer <br />Item Title/Subject: Authority to purchase emergency <br />vehicle squad set up from Emergency <br />Automotive Technologies, Inc. <br />Date of Report: 6-13-05 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The 2005 budget was approved for an expenditure of equipment and set up of two <br />replacement squad cars for the Police Department. The squad cars, 2005 Ford Crown <br />Victoria Police Vehicles, have been purchased and will be set up as marked cars. Three <br />bids were received for setting up the squad and installing the emergency lighting and <br />signaling equipment, and configuring all of the data and radio connections. <br /> <br />The bid from Emergency Automotive for the squad set up for both squads is $11,123. <br />The two other bids for the same service were $14,920, and $14,209. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />The Police Department has purchased squad set up from Emergency Automotive in the <br />past and has found their product and service to be excellent.
