<br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6565 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AS PART OF THE CITY HALL <br />RENOVATION PROJECT THE CONVERSION TO AN IP TELEPHONY PHONE <br />AND VOICEMAIL SYSTEM WITH THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE REVISION OF THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR <br />USE AND SUPPORT OF THE SYSTEM. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on April 25, 2005, the City Council, at a Council Meeting, <br />approved the preparation of plans and specifications for the City Hall renovation <br />project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff will need to vacate city hall during renovation and <br />relocate to two separate locations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a phone and voicemail system will need to be in place and <br />operational before staff can relocate; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, converting to an IP Telephony system is the most economical <br />and functional way to provide phone service during and after the move; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a Joint Power Agreement for computer network support <br />currently exists with the City of Roseville; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Roseville is willing to provide IP Telephony service <br />and support for the City of Mounds; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the conversion to IP Telephony will be financed as part of the <br />City Hall renovation project utilizing the Special Projects Fund. <br /> <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. The conversion of the existing phone and voicemail system to IP <br />Telephony with the City of Roseville is hereby approved as part of <br />the City Hall Renovation Project and financed by utilizing the <br />Special Projects Fund. <br /> <br />2. Revising the existing Joint Powers Agreement with the City of <br />Roseville to include IP Telephony support is hereby authorized. <br />
