UNAPPROVED <br /> Mounds View Planning Commission September 18, 1996 <br /> • Special Meeting Page 9 <br /> Commissioner Brasaemle expressed that he <br /> did not think that the issue is whether or not <br /> there is handicapped parking stalls because <br /> they are required, but rather the total number of <br /> parking spaces for the site. Director Sheldon <br /> explained that what it may come down to is <br /> whether the Planning Commission wants to <br /> take the total required based on seating and <br /> keep the handicap spaces separate when <br /> determining if the total number required has <br /> been met. Or does the Planning Commission <br /> want to count the handicapped parking stalls <br /> toward the total? Commissioner Miller <br /> commented that a handicapped person who <br /> has a sticker or tag does not necessarily mean <br /> they are in a wheel chair and may be sitting in <br /> the pews. Chair Peterson noted that it has <br /> been the Planning Commission's practice to <br /> count the handicapped spaces toward the total <br /> required. <br /> Victoria Otis-Dretsch, 6928 Pleasant View <br /> Drive, indicated that she was not able to attend <br /> any of the other meetings but did want to <br /> express her concerns about accommodating for <br /> future growth. Mr. Diem briefly explained the <br /> church's situation on growth and indicated that <br /> this issue was addressed at a previous <br /> meeting. <br /> Doris Friedland, 2925 County Road H, wanted <br /> to know how many families were part of the <br /> church's existing congregation.
