•
Results
The seasonal variations shown in Table 2 were applied to the
February parking occupancy demands to estimate peak season
parking demands for both Friday and Saturday conditions, with the
results summarized in Table 3 . Based on the ULI seasonal
variation data, a peak demand 0 . 19 spaces pre seat (1 parking
space for 5 . 36 seats) would be observed during the critical
Saturday peak hour. Based on Carmike Cinema transaction data
variations only, the peak demand for the critical Saturday peak
hour would be 0 . 21 spaces per seat (1 space per 4 . 72 seats) .
The Carmike Cinema development proposes to provide one (1) space
for four (4) seats, plus one (1) space for each employee on the
major shift . The total spaces proposed would provide a parking
ratio of 0 . 29 spaces per seat .
A comparison of the analysis results with the proposed parking
supply for the site indicates that the proposed parking supply (a
ratio of 0 . 29) for the Carmike project will be adequate to serve
the site during peak season conditions on both Friday and
Saturday in all cases . The Carmike data, while useful , contains
only a single data point while the ULI data contains several .
This indicates that one (1) space for every four (4) cinema seats
plus one (1) space for each employee on the major shift is an
accurate estimate of peak parking demand for the Carmike Cinema
project .
